India Bastien
India Bastien was born and raised in a small colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. With an American mother and a Mexican father her bicultural background and bilingual mindset has influenced the way she views the world and how it reflects into her work. With a diverse background in Mixed Media and Marketing her studies abroad in Czech Republic, joining the circus in Mexico City, all of her diversity has influenced her work greatly. India eventually ventured into the film industry in Atlanta, Georgia and to her surprise found a community that she has been able to connect with.
India has been doing art and finding different ways to express herself through artistic expressions with theater, dance, painting and poetry for as long as she can recall. Recently, along with discovering more about herself, finding her truth, she has taken a full dive in what it means being an Mexican raised as an American and how being multi-cultural has played a heavy role in her values and views of the world. India is continually seeking different ways to create art through community and share her experience as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. India has found beauty in the divide between her two different cultures and power of expression in her art by taking both core values and creating her own.
